About the position

We are seeking a professional and vigilant Security Officer (Unarmed) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment inside and outside of a college dormitory facility. The Security Officer will be the first point of contact for any security-related issues, expected to handle situations with discretion and professionalism, and provide assistance to campus police and other authorities as required.

Responsibilities

• Enforce the institution's policies and procedures related to security and safety.
• Provide a visible presence to deter criminal activity and maintain order.
• Monitor and control access to the dormitory allowing entry to only authorized individuals.
• Respond to security incidents, including fires, medical emergencies, and other situations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies.
• Collaborate with other security personnel to ensure a cohesive security strategy.
• Maintain accurate records of security incidents and investigations.
• Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify potential security risks.
• Perform other security-related duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience in security or law enforcement required.
• Valid Guard Card license required.
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation mandatory.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in military or law enforcement background is an asset.
• Experience in conflict management and loss prevention.

Benefits

• Contract position with hourly pay of $13.50 - $15.50.
