About the position

The Security Officer at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, and property within the facility. This role involves interacting with the public, responding to security issues, and maintaining a secure environment through vigilance and communication with the security team.

Responsibilities

• Perform security services through interaction with the public, patients, and employees.
• Provide security at specific locations and respond to security issues.
• Assist with access as requested and report suspicious circumstances and emergencies.
• Document all crimes, incidents, and safety-related irregularities per department policy and procedure.
• Acknowledge and respond to alarms, determining their source and providing proper assistance.
• Maintain communication with Supervisors and fellow Security Officers to report irregularities and obtain further instructions.
• Exhibit good judgment during critical situations and maintain a professional demeanor.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• BLS through American Heart Association preferred
