About the position
Join our team as a Part-time Security Officer and help create a safe and welcoming environment for our community! As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our premises and ensuring the safety of everyone on-site. This position operates under the guidance of the Security/Emergency Manager, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive setting.
Responsibilities
- Conducting regular patrols to maintain a secure environment.
- Monitoring surveillance equipment to detect and prevent incidents.
- Performing thorough building inspections to address safety concerns.
- Performing routine opening and closing of buildings.
- Opening facilities for special functions, and providing security as needed.
- Responding to emergencies, administering first aid, investigating incidents and completing detailed reports on activities.
- Remaining vigilant for criminal activity and coordinating with the Ogden Police department regarding criminal matters.
- Conducting periodic checks of college buildings and equipment.
- Interacting with campus visitors and staff to provide assistance as needed.
- Monitoring surveillance cameras and access controls.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid Utah driver license.
- A favorable background check.
- Be eligible to obtain a Utah security license.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or related field is preferred but not required.
- Firearms training and proficiency is a plus.
- Spanish-speaking proficiency desirable.
