About the position

The SOC Analyst I position at OSIbeyond is a critical role focused on analyzing and responding to cyber threats within client networks. This remote position requires candidates to be located in Hawaii. The SOC Analyst will be responsible for operating and tuning security tools to deliver cybersecurity services effectively. This includes performing maintenance and patching activities to enhance the cybersecurity posture of OSIbeyond's clients. The role demands a proactive approach to monitoring client environments for security threats and ensuring that all incidents are managed efficiently. In this position, the SOC Analyst will work on assigned tickets according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and will conduct regular vulnerability scanning and penetration testing. The analyst will also manage the remediation of identified issues, ensuring that client systems are secure and compliant. A significant part of the role involves analyzing cloud environments, servers, workstations, and other devices that may be compromised. The SOC Analyst is expected to provide high-quality written and verbal customer service, accurately track and document all work, and perform maintenance activities as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Work and complete assigned tickets according to SOPs
  • Monitor client environments for security threats
  • Perform regularly scheduled vulnerability scanning and penetration testing and manage remediation of identified issues
  • Analyze cloud environments, servers, workstations and other devices suspected to be compromised
  • Provide high quality written and verbal customer service
  • Accurately track and document all work
  • Perform maintenance activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience including either system administration or cybersecurity
  • Experience administering Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure and on-premise Microsoft platforms such as Microsoft Windows Server and Windows 10
  • Familiarity with log, event or security management platforms such as Logstash and Splunk
  • Experience in working with help desk ticketing software such as Zendesk or Connectwise
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (required)
  • CompTIA Security+ (required)
  • CompTIA CySA+ or equivalent (strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated ongoing professional interest in cybersecurity
  • Ability to speak confidently and comfortably with clients and vendors as needed to see incidents through resolution
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Strong communicator, both written & verbal
  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license.
