About the position

The Security Operations Lead at ARCO is responsible for overseeing and managing security operations services, including monitoring and responding to security events. This role involves implementing and administering various security solutions and infrastructure, ensuring the organization is protected against security threats. The Lead will also mentor team members and collaborate with other departments to enhance security measures and incident response capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead security incident response efforts, ensuring timely and effective handling of incidents.
  • Plan and execute regular incident response and postmortem exercises, focusing on measurable benchmarks.
  • Mentor security associates in monitoring and responding to security events and request tickets.
  • Identify root causes of security incidents, prioritize threats, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency within the Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Evaluate and update security operations policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage security tools, including documentation and configuration practices.
  • Engage in change and project management meetings.
  • Stay current with new security threats and assess systems for defense capabilities.
  • Develop metrics and scorecards to measure organizational risk and SOC effectiveness.
  • Ensure security training, including phishing training, is provided to all employees.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in cyber security operations, including security monitoring and incident response.
  • Technical expertise in technology design, implementation, and delivery.
  • Extensive knowledge of security controls and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EPM, and EDR.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Proven ability to drive measurable improvements in monitoring and response capabilities.
  • CISSP, CISM, and/or SANS certification is a plus.
