About the position

The position is responsible for managing back-office Trade and Custody Processing teams for sensitive clients, overseeing daily trade processing functions, and managing large initiatives such as onboarding investment managers. The role requires effective communication with clients and ensuring compliance with industry guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily trade processing functions to ensure timely posting and settlement of authorized trades.
  • Research and act upon trade discrepancies and trade fails in a timely manner.
  • Deliver an operations environment that meets or exceeds all service level agreements.
  • Develop and recommend tactical and strategic plans for processing improvements.
  • Select, train, develop, and lead an efficient and engaged processing team.
  • Ensure departmental staffing resources are well trained and cross-trained.
  • Develop, implement, document, and track departmental processing and accuracy standards.
  • Maintain accurate and current departmental procedures.
  • Develop and execute project plans, tracking and implementation schedules for departmental initiatives.
  • Implement department checklists and manage oversight processes to assure daily processing standards are met.
  • Mentor staff through routine meetings, one-on-ones, and on-the-spot coaching.
  • Escalate departmental operations issues in a timely manner.
  • Effectively manage critical vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years' experience in securities operations/trade custody.
  • 10+ years' experience managing direct reports.
  • Experience working with mutual funds and mutual fund managers.
  • Strong team skills and ability to establish effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Broad understanding of financial and strategic business aspects.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent personnel management skills.
