The Security Operations Manager maintains security related compliance with Government regulatory entities. Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed regulatory requirements for security related matters critical to carrier operations.
  • Maintain communication with field stations to ensure clear and concise understanding of security procedures and current security directives.
  • Manage the Exclusive Area Agreement (EAA) for the company at LaGuardia Airport: Ensure compliance with all aspects of the Security Plan developed in accordance with the TSA and the Port Authority of NY & NJ.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships with Government, Airport and Law Enforcement agencies: Ensure cooperative effort in response to all security issues and incidents.
  • Conduct security audits as scheduled or assigned.
  • Participate in weekly station opening meetings to ensure tasks related to security are completed.
  • Monitor TSA Web board for new security directives and changes to the AOSSP and determines the requirements and effect on station operations.
  • Maintain operational security integrity with consideration to operational costs.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Business Administration, Law Enforcement and or related field)
  • 3-5 years' experience in Airport Security
  • 3 plus years experience working in Security Law Enforcement
  • 2 plus years experience in People Management

Nice-to-haves

  • In-depth understanding of security measures as outlined in the AOSSP and current Security Directives.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both written and orally the elements of the security programs affecting stations and operating departments within the Company.
  • Strong operational knowledge of Carrier's reservation system, departure control system and Company policies and procedures.
  • Previous working knowledge in tracking and identifying trends related to security data from multiple sources to identify vulnerabilities and recommend operational solutions.
  • Able to design matrices and data tables to support positive resolution to complex operational issues.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Programs (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Interpersonal Communicator: Understands security requirements as they affect the Company and conveys such in a manner that is clearly understood across multi departments.
  • Team Player: Collaborates with internal and external entities to effectively achieve positive results and builds strong working relationships.
  • Proactive Systematic Approach: Track and trend data from internal and external sources that identify operational limitations, deficiencies and vulnerabilities to apply the appropriate measures to resolve and mitigate risks.
  • Innovative Thinking: Ability to think outside the box and develop creative solutions when applying security requirements/measures to limit operational impact and cost.
  • Integrity: Must exercise discretion that reflects that of the Department and maintains a work and personal ethic that is above reproach.
