About the position

The Security Operations Manager at Allied Universal is responsible for overseeing staffing, scheduling, and payroll processing for Security Professionals at assigned client sites. This role involves maintaining communication with staff, managing employee performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The position requires proactive management to maintain high employee morale and low turnover, while also ensuring operational efficiency through effective scheduling and training.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews and hires qualified applicants to fill open post positions in a proactive and timely manner, following company interviewing guidelines.
  • Makes initial/conditional job offers and job transfers using company forms and procedures, offering rates, schedules, and benefits in alignment with post contract requirements.
  • Creates, modifies, and manages post schedules in Winteam to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
  • Ensures all positions are staffed according to contract requirements and effectively manages branch overtime through proper scheduling and staffing.
  • Receives weekly time-sheets and updates Winteam schedules as necessary, running bi-weekly payroll according to company procedures.
  • Follows all company policies regarding timekeeping procedures, meal and rest period breaks, ensuring documentation is properly maintained.
  • Processes requests for final paychecks, anniversary bonuses, and other pay-related issues, acting as a Company representative in related matters.
  • Conducts disciplinary and counseling sessions with Security Professionals as needed, ensuring documentation according to company standards.
  • Initiates termination procedures as needed for voluntary and involuntary separations, executing termination meetings and completing follow-up documentation.
  • Maintains regular proactive contact with Security Professionals to ensure effective utilization and training of staff.
  • Maintains high employee morale and low employee turnover through effective communication and timely problem resolution.
  • Ensures a smooth running operation by enforcing post-specific policies and procedures through proper communication and training.
  • Maintains a well-organized, clean, and effective working area, ensuring all deadlines are consistently met.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) - five (5) years of professional-level experience managing non-exempt employees in a fast-paced service organization.
  • Ability to secure a valid Guard License if required by the state.
  • Ability to write effective and concise reports and document investigations and counseling sessions.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Demonstrated ability to be customer service oriented and interact with all levels in the organization.
  • Energetic and focused personality with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and manage deadlines.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior security industry and/or military experience.
  • College degree or coursework.
  • Prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, military, and/or customer service.
  • Experience in scheduling, operations, and/or employee management in a service-related industry.
