About the position

The Security Operations Network Engineer role is pivotal in ensuring that the company's global network infrastructure meets all security operational performance and reliability targets. This position is responsible for overseeing all security operational activities related to both cloud and on-premise network infrastructures. The engineer will engage with partners and vendor demands while assisting the architecture and engineering team in delivering new technology as required. Collaboration across multiple IT functions, employees, and vendors is essential to ensure that the global network infrastructures are compliant with all security requirements. Key responsibilities include providing network security operational support for Reyes Holdings' global IP LAN/WAN infrastructures, which encompass routing, switching, wireless, network security equipment, telecommunications circuits, and load balancing across over 170 global locations and three major contact centers. The engineer will troubleshoot and process security operational tickets from Tier 1 and Tier 2 support personnel, as well as manage escalated incidents from other sources. Additionally, the role involves performing installations of necessary patches and code updates in response to identified security vulnerabilities. In consultation with security compliance teams, the engineer will ensure that all network equipment operates at the appropriate levels of operating system and patch levels. Recognizing, identifying, and prioritizing incidents according to customer business requirements and organizational policies is crucial. The engineer will categorize issues for escalation and assign them to the appropriate technical teams as needed. Acting as an escalation point for managed service providers, the engineer will review and resolve technical issues while driving continuous improvement through the IT Service Center and Managed Service partners. The role also includes collecting and reviewing risk reports from various systems to identify issues and trends, developing recommendations to enhance security operational performance, and collaborating with internal and external technical and service teams to create or update knowledge base articles, configuration documentation, and runbooks for improved operational support. The engineer will develop and oversee adherence to maintenance and performance standards, and may be assigned other projects or duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide network security operational support for the Reyes Holdings global IP LAN/WAN IP infrastructures including routing, switching, wireless, network security equipment, telecommunications circuits and load balancing supporting 170+ global locations and 3 major contact centers
  • Troubleshoot and process security operational tickets received from Tier 1 and Tier 2 support personnel as well as escalated incidents from other sources
  • Perform installation of required patches and or code updates in response to security vulnerabilities
  • Ensure that all network equipment is operating at appropriate levels of operating system and patch levels in consultation with Security compliance
  • Recognize, identify and prioritize incidents in accordance with customer business requirements, organizational policies and operational impact
  • Categorize issues for escalation and assign to appropriate technical teams where required
  • Act as escalation point for our managed service provider to review and resolve technical issues
  • Enable and drive continuous improvement through the IT Service Center and Managed Service partners

Requirements

  • BA or BS Degree in a Technology Discipline or High School Diploma/GED and 3+ years of on-the-job experience in IT Security or Operations, including experience providing operational support for Cisco networking technologies and infrastructures, concepts, products, as well as other industry network standards and protocols OR High School Diploma and 6+ years of the above stated experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
  • Cisco Certification - CCNP or 6+ years of on-the-job experience in IT Security or Operations
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation to provide operational support off hours and as required in a 24/7 environment
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

  • Certification such as CCNP Routing/Switching, Palo Alto, F5
