About the position

The Portfolio Manager serves as a crucial liaison between GardaWorld and its customers, ensuring that the highest standards of customer service are maintained. This role is pivotal in representing GardaWorld as the premier provider of contract security services in the industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial reports and will be able to establish personal credibility with both internal and external clients through honesty, consistency, and dependability. The Portfolio Manager will oversee the day-to-day security services provided to various facilities, ensuring that these services meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. In this position, the Portfolio Manager will develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and employees, acting as the primary point of contact between GardaWorld, its clients, and the assigned staff. Regular meetings with clients will be essential to address any issues, provide solutions, offer status updates, communicate needs, and ensure complete customer satisfaction and contract compliance. The role also involves participating in the recruitment, selection, orientation, training, and ongoing development of staff assigned to the accounts. The Portfolio Manager will routinely visit and inspect supervisors and security officers assigned to accounts within the business unit. This includes reviewing reports, providing training and guidance, evaluating proficiency, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and GardaWorld policies, and initiating corrective actions when necessary. A thorough knowledge of post specifications, post orders, instructions, patrol areas, emergency procedures, staffing requirements, and client policies is essential for the effective operation within the business unit. Additionally, the Portfolio Manager will assist in developing and implementing staffing schedules, budgets, payroll, and other reports, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as all contracts and collective bargaining agreements. The role also requires recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve departmental efficiency and services, while ensuring that progressive discipline is followed in all corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day security service provided to the facilities and ensure service is of the highest standards.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and employees and serve as the liaison between GardaWorld, our clients, and our assigned staff.
  • Meet regularly with clients to address problems and offer solutions, provide status updates, communicate needs, and ensure contract compliance and complete customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, orientation, training, and continual development of staff assigned to the accounts.
  • Routinely visit and inspect supervisors and security officers assigned to accounts within the business unit, including reviewing reports, providing training & guidance, evaluating proficiency, ensuring compliance to contract specifications, and initiating corrective action as required.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of post specifications, post orders, instructions, patrol areas, zones, emergency procedures, staffing requirements/priorities, client policies and procedures, and any other information necessary for effective operation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of staffing schedules, budgets, payroll, and other reports.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all federal, state and local regulations in assigned accounts.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all contracts and collective bargaining agreements in assigned accounts.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Ensure progressive discipline is followed on all corrective actions.

Requirements

  • A college degree in business or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year management experience; 3 years preferred.
  • New York Security License.
  • Experience in Security, Military, or Law Enforcement is preferred.
