About the position

The Security Product Line Manager (PLM) at VIAVI will lead the management of security pigment products, including Optically Variable Pigment (OVP) and Optically Variable Magnetic Pigment (OVMP). This role focuses on technical product management, translating technology features into business value, and supporting the development and commercialization of products leveraging VIAVI's vacuum deposition capabilities. The PLM will create a multi-year product roadmap aimed at growth and profitability, while collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to align product offerings with customer needs and market trends.

Responsibilities

  • Create a multi-year product roadmap with strategic focus on delivering product line growth and profitability
  • Develop quantitative and qualitative analyses for the development of new capabilities to support growth in new, emerging, strategic and/or high growth markets
  • Understand market trends, customer needs and competition as well as VIAVI's internal capabilities and communicate those learnings to key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with VIAVI external and internal stakeholders to ensure VIAVI OSP's capabilities and product offerings are aligned with customers' requirements
  • Collaborate with VIAVI commercial team to deliver to quarterly and annual revenue expectations while analyzing pricing, forecasting, strategy and competitors to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Partner with internal teams, including Engineering, R D, Quality, Sales, Manufacturing and Finance as required
  • Support the development and execution of VIAVI OSP's inorganic growth strategy
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to develop a regulatory map identifying key opportunities and challenges for our products
  • Partner with VIAVI technical team to determine VIAVI IP strategy and serve as lead IP interface with commercial counterparts
  • Collaborate with VIAVI technical team to leverage existing capabilities for new applications and to understand what new capabilities to develop to enable future growth
  • Travel 20-40% for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships; much of the travel will be international

Requirements

  • 5+ years of global strategic business development or product management experience in security markets and/or optical devices and systems
  • Strong communication, analytical and financial skills with experience in pricing, product, market and competitor analysis
  • Adept at aligning cross-functional teams to execute on growth commitments
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Proven experience in executing strategy, driving change, and taking measured risk
  • U.S Citizenship or Permanent Resident status

  • Ideally based in Santa Rosa, California or Chandler, Arizona
  • Willingness to consider remote work with commitment to engage internal VIAVI teams as appropriate
