About the position

The Security Professional in the Corrections Facility Control Room is responsible for maintaining surveillance and controlling the movement of personnel, visitors, and inmates within the facility. This role involves operating the control room switchboard, monitoring various areas through CCTV, and communicating with emergency responders during incidents. The position requires a commitment to safety and security protocols while providing customer service to clients across various industries.

Responsibilities

• Maintain surveillance and control the movement of corrections personnel, visitors, and inmates throughout the facility.
• Operate the switchboard in the control room and monitor activities via closed circuit TV, radios, and audio monitors.
• Answer phone calls and transfer them to the appropriate location as needed.
• Communicate with Central Dispatch or other first responders during emergencies.
• Document and communicate activities during crises or facility evacuations until relieved from duty.
• Provide customer service by implementing safety and security procedures and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and effectively.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Must pass a drug screen as permitted by law.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions.
