About the position
The Commercial Security Sales Engineer at TEKsystems is responsible for estimating, designing, engineering, and configuring a comprehensive range of commercial electronic security systems, primarily focusing on IP network systems. This role involves working on new construction projects and modifications to existing security systems, providing expertise in access control, IP video surveillance, intrusion detection, and visitor management. The engineer will collaborate with sales and project teams to recommend optimal products and solutions, create technical documentation, and respond to customer inquiries regarding project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Estimate, design, engineer, and configure enterprise security systems with minimal supervision.
- Advise sales and project team members on the best products and solutions for each project.
- Create or review formal documentation such as schematics and technical literature to support each project.
- Configure estimates and quotes for each project using Fieldwire and internal web-based software.
- Respond to customer requests for information, including completing RFIs and RFPs.
Requirements
- Experience in estimating, designing, and configuring commercial electronic security systems.
- Knowledge of access control, IP video surveillance, intrusion detection, and visitor management systems.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD and Bluebeam for design purposes.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and project management.
Nice-to-haves
- Installation experience in security systems.
