About the position

The Security Officer 1 is responsible for enforcing departmental rules and policies, investigating criminal activities, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Tribal members, guests, and Team Members at the casino and tribal property. This role involves monitoring activities, responding to incidents, and maintaining safety standards within the casino environment.

Responsibilities

  • Learn, comprehend, and comply with all casino and tribal policies and procedures, MICS, gaming regulations, and job requirements.
  • Participate in all assigned security operations, including special events, which may rotate on a day-to-day basis.
  • Provide personal protection to Tribal Members, Team Members, and guests.
  • Monitor activities for unauthorized removal of property.
  • Respond to accidents and injuries, administering first-aid as needed, and writing accurate, detailed reports in a timely manner.
  • Enforce all Tribal, City, County, State, and Federal Laws and Ordinances as applicable.
  • Inspect fire suppression equipment daily to ensure it is fully operational.
  • Inspect all areas for safety and fire hazards and file reports as required.
  • Maintain records regarding incidents of theft, injury, property damage, etc., while protecting confidentiality.
  • Take necessary steps to protect tribal assets.
  • Generate written reports on all incidents as directed by security policies and procedures.
  • Guard the transfer of money and chips from the casino pit to the main cage.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum age requirement is 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year of combined experience in Security, First Responder, EMT, Law Enforcement, Corrections, or Military, or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by TRCR's insurance agency.
  • General understanding of computer programs, including all Windows applications required.
  • Must obtain and maintain current BLS, CPR, and First Aid (or higher) certification within 1 year of employment.
  • Must obtain Defensive Tactics certification within 1 year of employment.
  • Good customer service, organizational, and public relations skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to independently analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing, or by other acceptable means.
  • Comply with pre-employment, random, and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
  • Receive and maintain a valid gaming license from the CTCLUSI Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Availability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays based on the needs of the department and for special casino events.
