The Security Shift Manager at MGM Springfield is responsible for overseeing the security operations of the property, ensuring the safety of both employees and guests. This role involves managing the security team during daily operations, special events, and critical incidents, while also promoting compliance with policies and laws. The manager will focus on building effective teams, executing strategic goals, and maintaining high levels of guest service and satisfaction.

  • Manage security and support staff team members during day-to-day operations and activations.
  • Create schedules, work assignments, and station coverage for security personnel.
  • Handle payroll, PTO, training, and evaluation of security officers.
  • Administer progressive discipline as necessary.
  • Build and develop effective teams through hiring, training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
  • Promote compliance with MGMRI policies and federal, state, and local laws.
  • Communicate policy and procedure changes to security operation teams.
  • Execute department strategic goals and operational tactics for safety service.
  • Address guest questions and concerns according to Guest Service standard policies.
  • Act as the Incident Commander during critical incidents, establishing emergency response objectives and strategies.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Strong comprehension skills for understanding information and security best practices.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral.
  • Ability to manage crises and work under pressure.
  • Ability to perceive emergency and distress signals.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent planning, time management, decision making, presentation, and organization skills.
