About the position

The Security Software Engineer will play a crucial role in advancing Netflix's engineering security controls automation efforts. This position focuses on reducing software vulnerabilities through an engineering-first approach, collaborating with various teams to design and deliver impactful security solutions. The role emphasizes understanding the ecosystem and internal customer needs to effectively mitigate security risks.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver software solutions to resolve security risks at scale.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Netflix Security Engineering and Platform Engineering.
• Understand and analyze the ecosystem to identify impactful security risks.
• Provide actionable guidance to reduce security risks effectively.
• Take ownership of challenges associated with working at scale.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Python software development; experience with PySpark is a plus.
• Ability to create thoughtful end-to-end solutions.
• Customer-focused mindset with attention to developer experience and security risk reduction.
• Experience in data analysis and deriving insights from data.
• Familiarity with system design and architecture.
