About the position

Syntelligent Analytic Solutions is seeking a mid-level Security Specialist, Operations to support a federal client in Crystal City, VA. The role involves providing general security functions, managing security incidents, and ensuring compliance with security policies. The ideal candidate will have experience in security management and will be responsible for analyzing security processes and identifying emerging threats.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and assist with security incident inquiries
• Track and provide trend analysis on reported security incidents
• Provide incident matrix to the Director of Security (DS) and Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO)
• Recommend classification determinations prior to inquiry initiation
• Monitor inquiry progress, provide status updates to the GSSO, and draft appropriate reports before, during, and after inquiry
• Participate in containment and clean-up actions and document results
• Maintain the Security Incident Guide in coordination with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM)
• Ensure personnel are notified of the initial incident in accordance with policy
• Assess and optimize security processes, including automation, for a rapidly growing program
• Identify program requirements through review and analysis of user needs
• Identify emerging threats and produce products resulting from this analysis
• Conduct special security studies and produce products resulting from these studies

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a security related discipline along with three (3) years of experience in a security related field
• An Associate degree plus seven (7) years of work experience in a security related field
• Nine (9) years of work experience in a security related field
• SAP or Special Access Program experience
