Young Living is looking for a high-energy, self-motivated, results-driven Security Specialist. The Security Specialist coordinates and implements Young Living's policies and procedures for the physical security and safety of all employees, contractors, members, and guests. Additionally, the Security Specialist manages day-to-day operational oversight of the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets, in conjunction with the on-site contracted security specialists. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience as a Security Specialist. The Security Specialist will conduct physical security surveys and assessments, prepare detailed and accurate written reports of survey actions and findings, and manage security infrastructure through various monitoring systems. This role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects that change frequently. The Security Specialist will also be responsible for conducting escorts for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors, responding to emergency calls, and administering first aid when necessary. The position requires a commitment to Young Living's Sustainability Policies and adherence to all environmental, safety, and health regulations, procedures, and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical security surveys and assessments, preparing detailed and accurate written reports of survey actions and findings.
  • Conduct access control assessments including validating secured doors, windows, and gates are functioning appropriately.
  • Input and maintain information for traveling employees.
  • Prepare log reports, pass down materials, and other safety/security documents for management and staff to communicate identified issues found throughout the facility.
  • Maintain, keep, and report monthly badge audits.
  • Manage security infrastructure through various monitoring systems in the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC).
  • Monitor surveillance cameras of facilities around the globe and investigate and report incidents and/or concerns.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various Microsoft Office Suite products for word processing, data entry, briefings, reports, etc.
  • Coordinate and maintain visitor information as needed and ensure security procedures are followed for access into facilities.
  • Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, security doors left unlocked, and other risks/hazards.
  • Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment for supervisory staff.
  • Supervise monthly inspections of company AEDs, first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment.
  • Conduct escorts for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
  • Detect and report suspicious, unsafe, or criminal acts which may be a threat to guests, staff, animals, property, or assets on Young Living property.
  • Respond to emergency calls from security or other Young Living staff to prevent theft, property destruction, or vandalism.
  • Maintain knowledge of current security and emergency policies and procedures and respond to emergencies in accordance with policy.
  • Physically cover the contracted day shift guard for breaks and some security responses.
  • Administer first aid to sick or injured employees, volunteers, and guests, and contact emergency medical providers for assistance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to respond quickly to potential emergencies.
  • First-Aid/CPR/AED certified (preferred).
  • OSHA 10 certified.
  • OSHA 30 Certified (or certifiable).
  • RCRA Hazardous Waste Management Certified (or certifiable).
  • 24hr Hazwoper Certified (or certifiable).
  • FEMA IC 100.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience on a working farm, helpful but not required.
