About the position

Hillwood is seeking a Security Systems Administrator to join our Corporate Security team. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of security technologies that protect our assets, facilities, and personnel. The Security Systems Administrator will manage a range of security technologies, including access control, video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection, alarm systems, and intercom systems. The ideal candidate will ensure these systems operate effectively, integrate with existing infrastructure, and align with organizational security objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement electronic security solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and routine maintenance of security hardware and software.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues to maintain system integrity and functionality.
  • Ensure security systems adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Work closely with internal security teams, IT departments, and external security integrators to enhance security measures on new and existing offices.
  • Stay informed on emerging security technologies, trends, and threats to recommend and implement improvements.

Requirements

  • Expertise in access control systems, surveillance technologies, and intrusion detection.
  • Strong understanding of networking principles and system integration.
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of security management practices to protect systems against threats and address vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to analyze security vulnerabilities and recommend solutions.
  • Proficiency in security system software and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Ability to stay current with evolving technologies and adjust to changing security landscapes.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as DSX Access Control, DMP Intrusion Alarm Systems, Commend Intercom Systems, and Salient CompleteView Video Management System.
  • Ability to travel locally and out of state to various company locations, as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Alarm Technician preferred.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification strongly preferred.
  • Network+ certification strongly preferred.
  • Certifications from the following are preferred but not required: Security Industry Association (SIA), Electronic Security Association (ESA), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC-Council), ASIS International, ISACA, (ISC)2.
