About the position

Prysmian Group is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to join our team in Sedalia, Missouri. This role is pivotal in overseeing various aspects of human resources within the plant. Reporting directly to the Plant Human Resource Business Partner, the HR Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, training, benefits administration, and policy enforcement. The HR Generalist will act as a liaison between employees and leadership, ensuring that employee needs are met while also supporting the strategic goals of the organization. This position will also involve supporting various HR projects as needed, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR department. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in recruiting and onboarding new hires, conducting new hire orientations, and managing stay and exit interviews. Administrative tasks will include maintaining HRIS data accuracy and timekeeping in ADP. The individual will serve as a people leader and HR advisor, addressing employee relations matters and ensuring compliance with local and national regulations. Monitoring employee engagement and maintaining relationships with staffing agencies are also key responsibilities. The HR Generalist will be expected to create and maintain reports that impact key HR metrics, ensuring that the plant operates smoothly and efficiently. In this role, the HR Generalist must be a self-starter with a high level of attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously is essential, as is excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills. The HR Generalist will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a positive and productive workplace atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Recruiting and onboarding of new hires
  • Conducting new hire orientations, stay/exit interviews, and HRIS data entry
  • Acting as a people leader and HR Advisor to employees regarding policies, benefits, and employee relations
  • Monitoring employee engagement and ensuring a high level of employee satisfaction
  • Managing timekeeping in ADP
  • Auditing HRIS for accuracy
  • Managing the plant leave of absence process, including FMLA, STD, LTD, and personal leave
  • Creating and maintaining reports impacting key HR metrics
  • Ensuring compliance with local and national regulations and employment law
  • Maintaining relationships with staffing agencies
  • Supporting HR projects as assigned

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience as a Human Resource Generalist
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Knowledge of HR practices and employment law
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Competency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with ADP or similar HRIS systems
  • Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR)
