About the position

The Human Resource Generalist at Prysmian will play a crucial role in overseeing various aspects of human resources within the organization. Reporting directly to the Plant Human Resource Business Partner, this position is responsible for a wide range of HR functions including hiring, onboarding, training, benefits administration, and policy enforcement. The HR Generalist will act as a liaison between employees and leadership, ensuring that employee needs are met while also supporting the company's strategic goals. This role is essential in fostering a positive work environment and maintaining high levels of employee engagement through a hands-on approach. In addition to the core responsibilities, the HR Generalist will manage the recruitment and onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring that all administrative tasks such as new hire orientations and HRIS data entry are completed efficiently. The position also involves conducting stay and exit interviews to gather feedback and improve employee retention strategies. The HR Generalist will serve as an HR advisor to employees, addressing inquiries related to policies, benefits, and employee relations. Monitoring employee engagement and satisfaction will be a key focus, as will ensuring compliance with local and national employment laws. The role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The HR Generalist will also be responsible for timekeeping in ADP, auditing HRIS for accuracy, and managing the plant's leave of absence processes, including FMLA, STD, LTD, and personal leave. Creating and maintaining reports that impact key HR metrics will be essential for tracking performance and compliance. The HR Generalist will also maintain relationships with staffing agencies and assist with various HR projects as needed, contributing to the overall success of the HR department and the organization as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Recruiting and onboarding of new hires
  • Conducting new hire orientations, stay/exit interviews, and HRIS data entry
  • Acting as an HR Advisor to employees regarding policies, benefits, and employee relations
  • Monitoring employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Managing timekeeping in ADP
  • Auditing HRIS for accuracy
  • Managing the plant leave of absence process, including FMLA, STD, LTD, and personal leave
  • Creating and maintaining reports impacting key HR metrics
  • Ensuring compliance with local and national regulations and employment law
  • Maintaining relationships with staffing agencies
  • Supporting HR projects as assigned

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience as a Human Resource Generalist
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Knowledge of HR practices and employment law
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong follow-up and problem resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tough deadlines
  • Competency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with ADP or similar HRIS systems
