About the position

SimVentions is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to provide essential support to PMA-231 at NAVAIR Patuxent River, Maryland. This role involves deploying and configuring critical systems, including VMWare/vSphere Enterprise, Cisco switches, SAN, Windows Server, Networking, and Linux environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of these systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to enhance system performance and reliability. As a senior-level position, the candidate will be expected to leverage their extensive experience in system administration to mentor junior staff and contribute to team knowledge sharing. This position requires a strong understanding of both hardware and software components, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The role is on-site, with no telework options available, and requires a Secret clearance due to the nature of the work.

Responsibilities

• Provide deployment and configuration support for VMWare/vSphere Enterprise.
• Manage and configure Cisco switches and SAN systems.
• Administer Windows Server environments and ensure optimal performance.
• Support networking tasks and troubleshoot network issues.
• Administer Linux systems and perform necessary updates and maintenance.

Requirements

• United States Citizenship is required.
• At least 7 years of experience performing system administration in a Linux environment.
• COMPTIA Security + or other DOD INST 8570 compliant qualification is required.

Nice-to-haves

• At least 2 years of Network engineering experience.
