About the position

The Electrical-Controls Engineer will lead the design, modernization, and installation oversight of control systems for industrial specialty equipment. This role focuses on developing and implementing automation solutions to enhance performance and efficiency, contributing to the company's efforts to insource controls design and integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy PLC-based automation control systems, integrating motion control, sensors, VFD drives, and actuators.
  • Provide ongoing support for existing systems, troubleshooting and ensuring seamless functionality.
  • Program Level 1 control systems based on function descriptions and layouts.
  • Collaborate with project teams, internal experts, and customers to engineer solutions for technical challenges.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and simulation of systems prior to delivery.
  • Execute on-site commissioning and training sessions as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience programming and troubleshooting automation equipment and related controls in a professional setting, preferably in manufacturing/production environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (with I&E/control system emphasis), or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with PLCs and automation practices is required.
  • Experience with Siemens TIA Portal/S7 and Rockwell RSlogix5000 is preferred.
  • Familiarity with FactoryTalk, WinCC and/or Wonderware InTouch HMI systems is preferred.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to solve design problems is essential.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional HMI systems such as FactoryTalk or Wonderware InTouch.
