The Anchor Hocking glass factory, located at 519 N. Pierce Avenue in Lancaster, OH, is offering exciting opportunities for individuals looking to earn a living in the glass industry. We are thrilled to announce new wages starting from October 1, 2023, with current new hires receiving a $1,000 bonus after maintaining perfect attendance during their first 60 days. Employees will be represented by the United Steelworkers and will be eligible for benefits after thirty (30) days of employment, including a 4% match on their 401(k) contributions. Additionally, union employees will benefit from a $90 monthly bonus from October 2023 through March 2024. The position offers two distinct scheduling options: the Set Pack Department operates on a four-day, ten-hour shift from Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, starting at 4:50 AM. Employees in this department can work overtime on their days off, with overtime pay kicking in after forty (40) hours in a week at a rate of time and a half. The base rate for this position is $18.17, with additional bonuses available for attendance and safety. Alternatively, the Finishing Department follows a 12-hour schedule, where employees work three days on, two days off, two days on, and then three days off, allowing for an average of 14 days of work per month. Employees can choose between shifts starting at 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM, with the latter shift offering a $0.65 shift differential. Similar to the Set Pack Department, employees in the Finishing Department are also eligible for monthly attendance and safety bonuses. In both departments, employees will be responsible for selecting glassware, inspecting for defects, handling, packing, assembling, and staging all products and materials as required. They will also seal, label, and palletize products in compliance with operating procedures.
