About the position

Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist a young lady with a mild intellectual disability in the Kirkville/Bridgeport area. The role involves providing support to help her achieve her personal goals both at home and in community settings, ensuring her health and safety, and fostering independent living skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation to and from work and community outings.
• Support the individual during community activities.
• Assist in developing independent living skills at home and in the community.
• Ensure health and safety during activities.
• Work collaboratively with the individual and their family.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid New York State driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in the person's home and/or community.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred.

Benefits

• Flexible scheduling with approximately 15-20 hours per week.
• Additional weekend hours may be available.
• Pay rate of $21/hour after initial training.
