About the position

Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide support to a young lady with a developmental disability in the Syracuse area. The role focuses on assisting her in achieving her personal goals both at home and in community settings, emphasizing the development of independent living skills, communication, social, and safety skills.

Responsibilities

• Accompany and support the individual during community outings.
• Assist the individual in gaining independent living skills.
• Help increase the individual's communication, social, and safety skills.
• Provide transportation as needed.

Requirements

• Valid NYS driver's license.
• Strong communication skills.
• Reliability and patience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Benefits

• Pay rate of $20.00 per hour.
• Initial training pay rate of $16.50/hour for five hours.
