About the position

The Self Storage Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a self-storage facility, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining the property, and managing sales and rentals of storage units. This role requires strong multitasking abilities, retail sales experience, and a proactive approach to facility management.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers in renting storage spaces.
• Answer and respond to telephone calls and emails regarding rentals and tenant issues.
• Show, rent, and clean self-storage units while actively selling moving and packing supplies.
• Sell tenant protection plans and maintain an organized office environment.
• Accept payments and maintain an accurate petty cash log, preparing daily bank deposits.
• Contact past due customers to arrange for catch-up payments.
• Utilize advertising and promotional skills to keep the facility rented at optimum levels.
• Prepare units for auction and vacate units as prescribed by law and management approval.

Requirements

• Prior retail sales or leasing experience and customer service experience.
• Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
• Superior customer service skills and sales ability.
• Excellent phone demeanor and computer literacy with solid office skills.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
