About the position

The Semi-Trailer / Diesel Technician position at Dallas Trailer Repair Co. involves performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers and trucks/vehicles. The role requires a solid understanding of mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment, along with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Technicians will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, analyze, and diagnose trailers and related equipment for mechanical issues, faulty and replacement parts.
• Perform requested repairs according to industry standards.
• Conduct diagnostics and repairs on starting & charging systems, cooling, and re-charge, electrical and common fault codes.
• Perform routine maintenance and Federal inspections on trailers, trucks/vehicles, and related equipment.
• Problem solve and document an action plan for all repairs and follow checklists and protocols while conducting repairs.
• Ensure a safe, organized, and tidy workspace, including regularly cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Follow all health and safety rules and guidelines, as well as common sense safety practices.
• Ability to work independently, as well as support coworkers, able to work as part of a team.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of mechanical or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of diesel vehicle mechanical systems (e.g., transmission, exhaust, electrical).
• Understanding of common diagnostic equipment with aptitude in the use of hand and/or power tools, and precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers).
• Must have own tools plus Safety Glasses, Steel-toed shoes, and Hearing Protection.
• Able to pass a 10-year background check and drug test/medical physical exam.

Nice-to-haves
