About the position

The Semiconductor / Principal Semiconductor Process Integration Engineer at Northrop Grumman is responsible for working on advanced semiconductor technologies, particularly focusing on Back End of Line (BEOL) process integration. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, troubleshooting, and process improvements within the semiconductor process integration team. The engineer will support program execution for various projects within the Micro Systems Technologies portfolio, collaborating with multiple foundry groups and contributing to both production and development programs.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on Superconducting Electronics and connect with multiple advanced technologies.
  • Possess an understanding of semiconductor processing, especially in Back End of Line (BEOL) process integration.
  • Conduct hands-on laboratory and experimental work.
  • Support program execution for programs within the Micro Systems Technologies portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other foundry groups on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Microelectronics, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or closely related technical major with 2+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 1+ years of relevant experience for Semiconductor Process Integration Engineer.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Microelectronics, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or closely related technical major with 5+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; or a PhD with 1+ years of relevant experience for Principal Semiconductor Process Integration Engineer.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing, especially in Back End of Line (BEOL) process integration.
  • Aptitude for hands-on laboratory and experimental work.
  • Willingness to work 1st shift (Monday-Friday) 8:00AM-5:00PM.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret w/SCI clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active TS/SCI with poly clearance.
  • Course work and industry experience in semiconductor processing, analog and microwave electronic circuits.
  • FEOL and BEOL semiconductor fabrication experience.
  • Direct Current (DC) test analysis and production engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of yield improvement and defect reduction.
  • Experience with DOEs, JMP, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with MES data analytics, Tableau, and APF formatter.
