About the position

Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) is seeking a Semiconductor Process and Device Engineer to join its Advanced Process Technology Group. This group is part of ADI's CTO organization and is responsible for developing the company's roadmaps for semiconductor processes. The engineer will focus on the development of Wide-Band-Gap (WBG) and Ultra Wide-Band-Gap (UWBG) electronic devices, specifically working on next-generation Gallium Nitride (GaN) and Aluminum Gallium Nitride (AlGaN) FET technology. The role involves designing and executing process development experiments within a silicon fabrication facility. Responsibilities include unit and module process development, process flow design and simulation, and implementing these processes in the Manufacturing Execution System. The engineer will also be tasked with designing experiments aimed at improving device performance, which will require significant hands-on lot management both inside and outside the manufacturing facility. In addition to the core responsibilities, the position may encompass a variety of related topics such as research and development of next-generation RF and power devices, WBG device characterization and reliability testing, and the construction of new measurement systems for WBG devices. The engineer will engage in discussions with internal business units to understand future device needs, collaborate with manufacturing teams to define manufacturing strategies, and work with business strategists to assess the business impact of new process directions. Staying at the forefront of WBG and UWBG device technology will involve connecting with university research projects and attending relevant conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute process development experiments in a silicon fab.
  • Develop unit and module processes for WBG and UWBG devices.
  • Design and simulate process flows for semiconductor fabrication.
  • Implement process flows in the Manufacturing Execution System.
  • Conduct experiments to improve device performance.
  • Manage lots hands-on within the manufacturing facility.
  • Research and develop next-generation RF and power devices.
  • Characterize and test the reliability of WBG devices.
  • Construct new measurement systems for WBG devices.
  • Collaborate with internal business units to understand future device needs.
  • Define manufacturing strategies in collaboration with manufacturing teams.
  • Assess the business impact of new process directions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Material Science is required.
  • Master's or Ph.D. Degree is preferred.
  • Significant experience with Gallium Nitride and/or Aluminum Gallium Nitride device fabrication is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor device physics and fabrication is necessary.
  • Good written and oral communication skills are essential.
