About the position

The Senior 3D Generalist at DK Global, Inc. is responsible for creating high-quality 3D animated visual presentations for legal purposes, including medical illustrations and accident reconstructions. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical skills, and teamwork, as the Generalist will work closely with a small team to produce compelling visuals that support attorneys in their cases. The position demands proficiency in various modeling, animation, and rendering techniques, along with the ability to lead projects and mentor junior artists.

Responsibilities

• Model high quality 3D characters, environments, damages, and props that complement the art direction and style desired by the client.
• Create custom riggs for non-human assets.
• Create and animate particle systems.
• Create storyboards.
• Create scene lighting and render with Vray, managing render passes and priorities.
• Create detailed, accurate animations of characters for scenes.
• Composite custom graphics and animate medical surgeries and damages.
• Composite and edit timelines and documentaries.
• Incorporate 3DS max physics systems.
• Paint damages using Substance Painter.
• Participate as a team member in determining various aesthetic solutions.
• Take lead on projects, directing and troubleshooting as needed.
• Create workflow documentation and participate in scrub and close out procedures.
• Oversee space in drives and work with artists to execute the vision.
• Review Junior and Associate Artists' work and train, mentor, and supervise entry to mid-level artists.
• Lead training sessions and attend interviews for potential new artists.
• Attend manager meetings when necessary and work independently or in small groups to troubleshoot production issues.
• Maintain productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality work.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and fellow Animators to ensure an efficient production process.

Requirements

• BA, BFA or an equivalent professional certification.
• 5-7 years of experience with 3DS Max as a Generalist.
• Proficient in Adobe products (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
• Proficient in Rail Clone and Forest Pack.
• Ability to work well under pressure and respond positively to criticism and feedback.
• Experience presenting creative work to clients in an understandable manner.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to continue learning.
