About the position

The Senior Project Manager at AECOM will lead the execution of architecture and design projects, managing interdisciplinary teams to meet client needs and business expectations. This role encompasses the full project lifecycle, from proposal to client handover, ensuring successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, and budget. The position requires strong communication and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects and engage with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of projects from proposal phase through to client handover.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and manage relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Collaboratively develop project guidelines and objectives with project stakeholders.
  • Manage all aspects of a project including needs, schedule, fees, deliverables, and contract terms.
  • Accountable for delivering successful projects on behalf of AECOM.
  • Develop and monitor detailed project plans and technical approaches.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs to minimize risk.
  • Measure project performance and provide updates to senior management.
  • Perform risk management to minimize negative consequences from risk.
  • Manage and direct professional and technical staff to maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Understand how contractual terms impact the project and manage accordingly.
  • Coordinate internal and external project team members.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget to client satisfaction.
  • Lead project pursuits, including identification of new business opportunities and generation of Scope of Work.

Requirements

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Building related Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience with an architectural firm or consulting design firm in a building related design field.
  • Strong verbal, organizational, and technical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Architecture Licensure or Professional Engineer certification.
  • 10+ years of professional experience managing A/E work.
  • Experience managing A/E Vertical Design Projects as a consultant.
  • Experience managing projects for a National Government entity.
  • PMP Certification or strong understanding of project management best practices.
  • Familiarity with design software necessary for deliverable development (e.g., Revit, Autodesk 360, Bluebeam).
