About the position

The Senior Project Manager will lead the execution of architecture and design projects, managing interdisciplinary teams to meet client needs and business expectations. This role encompasses the full project lifecycle, from proposal to construction administration, ensuring quality deliverables within scope, schedule, and budget. The successful candidate will engage in AECOM's collaborative design process, providing innovative solutions and maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of projects from proposal phase to client handover.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and manage relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Collaboratively develop project guidelines and objectives with stakeholders.
  • Manage all aspects of projects including needs, requirements, schedule, fees, and deliverables.
  • Accountable for delivering successful projects on behalf of AECOM.
  • Develop and monitor detailed project plans and technical approaches.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs to minimize risk.
  • Measure project performance and provide updates to senior management.
  • Perform risk management to minimize negative consequences.
  • Manage and direct professional and technical staff to maintain project documentation.
  • Understand and manage contractual terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate internal and external project team members.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.

Requirements

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Building related Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience with an architectural firm or consulting design firm in a building related design field.
  • Architecture Licensure or Professional Engineer preferred.
  • 10+ years of professional experience managing A/E work preferred.
  • Experience managing A/E Vertical Design Projects as a consultant.
  • Experience managing projects for a National Government entity or specific market sector.
  • Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Client-facing experience and ability to lead discussions.
  • Understanding of different contract types and alternative delivery methods.
  • PMP Certification or strong understanding of project management best practices.
  • Experience coordinating work with various disciplines.
  • Experience with construction administration and permitting processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with design software such as Revit, Autodesk 360, Bluebeam, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Project, Power BI.
