About the position

As a Business Development Executive for GMP Labs at PPD, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be instrumental in driving revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. This role requires collaboration with internal teams to promote GMP Lab services and ensure client success, leveraging technical knowledge and strategic thinking to build strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities for GMP lab services across the pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare industries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, acting as a trusted partner to understand their specific needs and aligning solutions accordingly.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed territory sales targets, driving revenue growth through cross-selling and new service offerings.
  • Stay updated on market trends, client needs, and competitor activity to tailor business development efforts and propose innovative service solutions.
  • Partner with internal teams, including scientific, technical, and operational departments, to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions that meet client expectations.
  • Deliver presentations to prospective clients to showcase GMP Lab capabilities and how PPD can meet their technical and business needs.
  • Lead negotiations for pricing, terms, and contracts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with PPD's business goals.
  • Attend industry conferences, seminars, and events to represent PPD and develop relationships with potential clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, chemistry, business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or contract research organization (CRO) industries, with a strong focus on GMP lab services.
  • In-depth understanding of GMP regulations, analytical laboratory services, and the drug development lifecycle.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to build long-term client relationships.

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a technical service environment.
