About the position

The Sr. Account Executive - Public Sector at Posit is a pivotal role focused on engaging prospective customers in the Data Science field. This position involves building relationships, educating the market about Posit's software, and driving sales growth, particularly within governmental entities. The role requires a blend of technical sales expertise and a strong understanding of analytics, with a commitment to customer success and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with prospective customers to demonstrate Posit's technologies.
  • Build personal relationships with clients to ensure their success.
  • Communicate effectively to develop interest in Posit's professional software.
  • Play a key role in expanding existing accounts and acquiring new customers.
  • Educate the market on the value of Posit's products and services.
  • Forecast sales activity and revenue achievement.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, MDRs, and SDRs to drive growth and generate new business opportunities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Enterprise Software Sales experience, preferably with governmental entities.
  • Familiarity with analytics and Data Science.
  • Experience with Governmental RFQ/RFP processes and acquisition regulations.
  • Experience working with resellers, VARs, and channel partners focused on government markets.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a high-velocity environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and reliable, capable of functioning effectively in a distributed team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technical sales roles related to analytics or Data Science.
  • Familiarity with government market dynamics and sales processes.
