About the position

The Senior Account Executive for Sustainable Infrastructure at Johnson Controls is a key sales role focused on selling performance contracts for energy solutions to commercial buildings. This position requires a seasoned sales professional who can effectively engage with C-level executives, build long-term customer relationships, and drive sales of complex bundled offerings that guarantee savings. The role emphasizes understanding customer needs, providing tailored solutions, and managing the sales process to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Sell JCI offerings to building owners and owner representatives at the C-level with minimal supervision.
  • Build and manage long-term customer relationships with key and target building owners.
  • Execute the sales process to cultivate and manage long-term relationships and close new sales opportunities.
  • Promote renewable service agreements and guaranteed savings as the foundation of managed account relationships.
  • Utilize sales tools to plan and document progress and increase business opportunities in accounts.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts to seek out and initiate contact with prospective customers.
  • Address customer's financial, business, operational, and environmental objectives with tailored solutions.
  • Maximize assigned Project Development Engineering resources effectively to ensure customer value.
  • Write, present, and communicate proposals effectively to secure major opportunities.
  • Lead the sales team by fostering team relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related discipline required; MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of five to seven years of progressive field sales experience at the C-level.
  • Experience selling energy solutions performance contracts is preferred.
  • Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels.
  • Ability to travel 50%.
