About the position

The Senior Account Executive at Energy Systems Group is responsible for generating new business within the public sector by employing a consultative sales approach. This role involves developing leads and building relationships with utility and public sector clients to drive new revenue while ensuring appropriate gross margins. The position requires understanding customer needs and collaborating with the operations team to provide feasible solutions. The Senior Account Executive will also engage with leadership and technical representatives to develop financial solutions and contribute to long-term strategic planning for the Public Sector team.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new business through trade shows, research, and cold calls.
  • Develop knowledge of the renewable energy industry, including trends and opportunities.
  • Cultivate effective business relationships and communicate solutions to meet customer goals.
  • Maintain open communication with customers to understand their needs and ensure alignment with solutions.
  • Meet activity and results standards, including sales and gross margin goals.
  • Prepare and present professional proposals addressing customer needs, including financial proposals.
  • Maintain customer contact throughout the installation period to address any additional needs.
  • Monitor account plan progress, including market conditions and competitive activity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Seven or more years of industry experience selling large solutions, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Highly effective sales negotiation and closing techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to compose proposals, reports, and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to groups of managers, clients, and the public.
