About the position

The Senior Account Executive at EmblemHealth is responsible for managing a portfolio of Key Accounts, ensuring client satisfaction, retention, and growth. This role involves presenting renewal proposals, overseeing client benefit plans, and collaborating with various departments to resolve issues. The Senior Account Executive also participates in sales campaigns and maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Present and successfully close client renewals by analyzing the renewal prior to release and preparing supporting materials.
  • Routinely visit clients and keep them informed of issues impacting benefits and rates, managing the administration of their benefit plans.
  • Focus on client satisfaction, retention, and growth by collaborating with other areas of EmblemHealth to prevent and resolve issues.
  • Participate in organizing and executing sales campaigns to increase membership and develop strategies for upselling additional coverage.
  • Stay current with EmblemHealth's benefits, industry trends, competitive strategies, and governmental regulations, ensuring licensure requirements are met.
  • Generate reports for management that communicate accurate information on account status and competitive intelligence.
  • Work with community organizations to present health care information and promote a positive corporate image, attending client functions after hours.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and manage correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Assist less experienced Account Executives with complex issues and act as a team lead when assigned to the same book of business.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on process improvement issues for Account Management and represent the team in internal meetings.
  • Regular attendance is essential, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the health insurance field with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Knowledge in pricing and underwriting, financial arrangements, benefit programs, and utilization management.
  • Must obtain a NYS Health/Life Agents license within 60 days of employment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the health insurance industry.
  • Strong consulting, presentation, negotiation, and selling skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Competitive hourly wage ranging from $45 to $60 per hour.
