About the position

Aon is currently seeking an Account Manager for the Property Consulting Group, specifically for the role of Property Risk Control Consultant. This position is integral to supporting Aon's Property Risk Consulting Group, where the successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues and clients to gain a comprehensive understanding of various property risks, including those posed by fire, earthquake, flood, and other natural catastrophes. The ideal candidate will possess HPR property engineering experience, with a solid grasp of NFPA and Factory Mutual standards, as well as a thorough understanding of property insurance policy terms and conditions. Proficiency in managing relationships with clients, carriers, and insurance brokers is essential, along with excellent communication skills to effectively convey general property risk management concepts to prospective clients and internal teams. The role requires the candidate to travel between 40% to 50% of the time, primarily within the U.S. Responsibilities include assembling Construction, Occupancy, Protection, and Exposure (COPE) data, preparing brokerage submission information, and supporting broker renewals. The successful applicant will also attend and participate in carrier meetings, manage vendor relationships, conduct property risk control surveys, and develop underwriting reports for various occupancies. Additionally, the candidate will conduct natural catastrophe surveys, analyze flood exposures in accordance with NIFP and FEMA guidelines, and coordinate vendor RFPs. Knowledge of B&M jurisdictional inspection requirements and the ability to develop and review Maximum Foreseeable Loss (MFL), Probable Maximum Loss (PML), and Normal Loss Expectancy (NLE) estimates is crucial. The candidate will also need to address hazards associated with diverse occupancies, including manufacturing and warehousing, and apply best practices to resolve technical fire protection issues. Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience, along with 3 to 10 years of experience with a Highly Protected Risk insurance carrier or vendor. The candidate should be technically proficient in understanding and applying NFPA and/or FM Global standards and evaluating fire protection systems. The ideal candidate is expected to be self-sufficient, organized, and possess strong written and oral communication skills. Physical fitness is necessary, as the role involves climbing ladders and accessing various building areas during surveys. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 10 years of experience with a Highly Protected Risk insurance carrier or vendor.
  • Technical proficiency in understanding, interpreting, and applying NFPA and/or FM Global standards.
  • Experience evaluating fire protection systems, including automatic sprinklers and special extinguishing systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-sufficient and organized with problem-solving abilities.
  • Physical fitness to climb ladders and access various building areas during surveys.
