About the position

The Senior Accountant/Assistant Controller role at Robert Half is a short-term contract position focused on managing financial reporting and accounting functions. The position involves overseeing the preparation of financial statements, managing the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and serving as a liaison to external auditors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements
  • Manage the general ledger and provide detailed analyses on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Establish and maintain internal control systems to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Analyze and report on cost variances, and assist in managing the budget process
  • Research and resolve accounting issues in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Serve as a liaison to external auditors and manage activities related to external auditing
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and recommend improvements as necessary
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance
  • Ensure all accounting activities are in compliance with GAAP
  • Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
