About the position

The Senior Accountant, Budget & Financial Analyst at Norton Medical Group is responsible for maintaining the general ledger and financial records for assigned service lines and accounting units. This role ensures compliance with GAAP and other accounting policies, prepares and analyzes financial statements, reconciles accounts, and assists in the development of complex annual budgets and financial forecasts. The position requires collaboration with key stakeholders to evaluate financial proposals and manage provider contracts accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger and financial records for assigned service lines and accounting units.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Distribute monthly financial and statistical reports and prepare audit schedules.
  • Assist in the review of provider contracts for accuracy in pay and benefits.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of provider RVUs and calculate productivity bonus accruals.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop annual operating budgets and gather necessary information.
  • Evaluate program tradeoffs and identify alternative funding methods for budget attainment.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of periodic operational forecasts using statistical modeling.
  • Assist in preparing pro-forma financials for capital projects and provider agreements.
  • Perform ROI and cost-benefit analyses for projects.
  • Complete assigned reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate the month-end close process for assigned accounting units and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Analyze budget variances and communicate findings to departmental leadership.

Requirements

  • Three years of general accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three years of budgeting experience in healthcare or public accounting.
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for the state of Kentucky or Indiana.
