About the position

The Senior Accountant - Consolidations role at Aston Carter involves managing complex accounting tasks, including recording journal entries, reconciling ledger accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The role also includes providing guidance to other accountants and participating in cross-departmental projects to align accounting practices with business changes.

Responsibilities

• Record journal entries and reconcile complex ledger accounts.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in processes or formats.
• Understand business drivers and their effect on financial results to ensure accurate financial statements.
• Ensure timely preparation and maintenance of accounting records and monthly close activities.
• Mine, manipulate, and manage large volumes of transactional data.
• Review work submitted by Accountants and provide functional advice and training.
• Resolve issues using accounting concepts and analytical skills.
• Establish and maintain accounting control procedures.
• Produce accurate and timely ad-hoc reporting from multiple data sources.
• Participate in cross-departmental projects and communicate the impact of changes on accounting processes.
• Perform other duties/projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA preferred.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in a large company required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience required.
• Consolidations experience required.
