About the position

The Senior Accountant position at our established and growing construction, architectural, and land development firm is a critical role that involves a variety of accounting and financial responsibilities. The selected candidate will be responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements, management reports, reconciliations, banking schedules, and tax workpapers. This role requires a strong understanding of the design-build and progress billing industry, as the candidate will be expected to prepare and maintain tax schedules for various trusts and partnerships, as well as manage payroll for sales commissions and bonuses. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Senior Accountant will audit sales files, update and maintain the business plan projection and schedules, and coordinate the collateralization of units onto the Borrowing Base. The candidate will also be tasked with updating company software and reconciling the monthly report, preparing and updating cash flow forecasts, and working with an outside accounting firm in the preparation of tax returns and supporting schedules. The role will also involve preparing schedules for the annual audit and handling other ad hoc projects as assigned. The Senior Accountant will review and approve job cost budgets, analyze and coordinate yearly property tax protests with various taxing jurisdictions, and ensure proper reporting of 1099-M income for subcontractors. Additionally, the candidate will coordinate various tax payments to the IRS and/or State Comptroller's Office. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the design build/progress billing industry.
