About the position

The Senior Accountant at MGM Resorts International is responsible for preparing entertainment and managed outlet settlements, expense and reimbursement accruals, and payments in accordance with contract terms. This role involves performing various accounting functions, including assisting with the preparation of monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and ad-hoc accounting projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare entertainment and managed outlet settlements, expense and reimbursement accruals, and payments according to contract terms.
• Record transactional activity timely and accurately in the general ledger following GAAP.
• Evaluate and implement internal controls to ensure effective operations.
• Provide necessary reporting on financial data, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all requested reports.
• Ensure proper planning and resource availability for assigned projects, developing and measuring analytical and control activities.
• Participate in project implementation for systems and processes related to the corporate department.
• Provide support, training, mentoring, and problem resolution to accountants to maximize department performance.
• Lead and communicate shared service strategies that deliver high-quality support services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent.
• 2 years accounting experience.
• Experience working with all levels of management, including executives.
• Experience pulling financial reports and making recommendations based on financial data.
• Experience preparing and reviewing general ledger account reconciliations.
• Experience with monthly and quarterly financial reporting including P&L review.
