About the position

ImmunityBio, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant specializing in Cost Accounting to join our dynamic team. This hybrid position will involve significant interaction with various aspects of manufacturing operations and the Supply Chain. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing standard cost reports, determining manufacturing variances, and checking bills of material for standard costs. Additionally, the role will involve assisting with new product costing, supporting the month-end close and reporting processes, and communicating with management regarding any opportunities that may arise. In this role, you will prepare monthly financial information utilizing applicable support systems, which includes preparing journal entries, entering inventory accounts payable accruals, reconciling the balance sheet, and analyzing variances. You will assist with month-end closing, including the reconciliation of perpetual inventories to the general ledger, and track daily work items assigned in D365. Investigating and reporting on inventory adjustments will also be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will support cost roll as needed and assist the Cost Director with the annual budget process and annual physical inventories. The Senior Accountant will also support internal customers by researching questions and investigating variances on financial statements, ensuring proper retention, filing, and handling of accounting records. You will prepare other reports and assist in special projects and analysis as required or requested by the manager, performing other duties as needed. Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial information utilizing applicable support systems.
  • Prepare journal entries and enter inventory A/P accruals.
  • Reconcile the balance sheet and analyze variances.
  • Assist with month-end closing including reconciliation of perpetual inventories to the general ledger.
  • Track daily work items assigned in D365.
  • Investigate and report on inventory adjustments.
  • Support cost roll as needed and new product costing.
  • Assist Cost Director with annual budget process and annual physical inventories.
  • Support internal customers by researching questions and investigating variances on the financial statements.
  • Ensure proper retention, filing, and handling of accounting records.
  • Prepare other reports and assist in special projects and analysis as required or requested by the manager.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field with emphasis in accounting required.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience working in a fast pace changing environment.
  • Experience working in Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical companies.
  • ERP experience preferably Microsoft Dynamic 365.
  • Must have cost accounting background or willingness to learn and a strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Innovative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Strong organizational abilities and adept at managing multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
