Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with state-specific regulations related to the marijuana industry, including tax codes and financial reporting requirements.
• Assist in the preparation and management of company budgets, providing insights into financial trends and projections.
• Collaborate with external tax consultants for annual tax returns, ensuring all dispensary operations are tax-compliant.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds for daily operations and future expansions.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Collaborate with procurement to manage vendor relationships and ensure accurate inventory accounting.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.
• Work alongside external auditors during annual audit processes, ensuring timely provision of necessary documentation and information.
• Continually assess accounting procedures and recommend improvements to streamline processes and enhance financial controls.
• Work closely with other departments, providing financial insights and data to aid decision-making.
• Regularly update knowledge on marijuana industry regulations and financial best practices relevant to dispensary operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience.
• Proficient in accounting software and tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of the marijuana industry regulations is highly desirable.
