About the position
The Senior Accountant position at our firm involves managing financial accounting tasks for a variety of hedge funds and investment entities. The role is crucial for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements while providing support for tax planning and audits. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in accounting to prepare financial statements, assist in tax return preparations, and collaborate with portfolio managers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements, including monthly compilations, for various hedge funds, commodity pools, and fund of funds.
- Generate NFA and GIPS compliant performance tables and capsule reports for NFA, SEC, and unregistered hedge fund groups.
- Perform daily net asset calculation of hedge funds with $10 million to $100 million under management using portfolio management software.
- Assemble annual audit packages for independent auditors, the SEC, and the NFA.
- Assist and consult portfolio managers in annual tax planning for partnership and individual tax returns.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax estimates, year-end final Federal and State tax returns for individuals, partnerships, management companies, and trusts.
- Act as a liaison for the partnership during Internal Revenue Service audits.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Accounting or MBA with concentration in Accounting and/or Finance.
- Six months of experience in the job offered.
- Experience in preparation of financial statements for hedge funds, commodity pools, and fund of funds.
- Experience in preparation of year-end Federal and State Tax Returns for partnerships and management companies.
- CPA certification is a plus.
