About the position

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in the Americas Accounting team, focusing on overseeing various accounting functions including banking activities, leases, and employee benefits. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a growth-oriented environment and is well-versed in US GAAP. The role involves ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in daily month-end close meetings focused on ensuring accuracy of financial statements and trend analysis.
  • Contribute to a continuous process improvement environment, including review of tasks, processes, and workflows for maximum efficiency.
  • Coordinates with the Regional Treasury Manager, Senior and Staff Accountants to prepare and verify the accuracy of all cash account reconciliations, including accurate accounting for FX gains and losses.
  • Monitor cash transactions for multiple operating and depository accounts across various financial institutes.
  • Journalize all cash transactions related to intercompany transfers and loans, interest, banking and merchant fees, employee stock related benefits, and other non-recurring transactions.
  • Reconcile all cash accounts and related equity and accrual accounts.
  • Works closely with the Credit and Collections team to assist with cash receipts analysis.
  • Works closely with the Accounts Payables team to reconcile AP transactions.
  • Prepares and reconciles journals and accounts related to employee benefits including medical insurance benefit accruals and actuals, HSA funding, FSA funding, and 401K.
  • Prepares and reconciles journals related to ASC 842 real estate and equipment lease accounting, including working with the business and consolidations team to identify and report new lease agreements and updating the CoStar lease management system for new leases.
  • Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned based on the necessity of the business.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Accounting or related field (i.e., business administration or finance)
  • 3-7 years of accounting-related work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting guidelines and procedures and generally accepted accounting practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize deadlines.
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong commitment to drive results.
  • Strong knowledge of cash management, banking, reconciliations, T-accounts, and general accounting.
  • Strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial ERP systems, preferably Netsuite and Oracle R12.
