About the position

The Senior Accountant I - Student Accounts at Carroll College is responsible for managing student accounts receivable, including billing, collections, and account reconciliations. This role involves providing financial counseling to students and parents, maintaining financial software, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The position emphasizes excellent customer service to support student retention and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement policies and systems for student accounts receivable.
• Manage billing, collections, and write-offs for student accounts.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations and resolve student account balances.
• Serve as a financial counselor to students and parents.
• Maintain the Student Financials software module.
• Produce year-end student tax forms and ensure timely filing with tax authorities.
• Provide requested information for the annual year-end audit.
• Deliver excellent customer service to students and their families.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field plus 2 years of progressively responsible work-related experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
