About the position

The Senior Accountant in Manufacturing will play a crucial role in supporting the company's accounting functions, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAP). This position is integral to the uninterrupted development and manufacturing of high-tech products for key industries such as aerospace and defense. The role involves maintaining the General Ledger, preparing financial statements, and providing variance analysis to support business goals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile General Ledger accounts on a recurring basis, including posting monthly journal entries and providing high-quality variance analysis.
• Analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy through reconciliation, ensuring proper classification according to U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare journal entries for entry into the general ledger system on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data and preparing audit transaction support.
• Coordinate month-end close, journal entries, expense allocation process, and preparation of monthly GAAP statements.
• Maintain and oversee the General Ledger, ensuring data security, journal entry integrity, and compliance with accounting principles.
• Prepare and evaluate monthly financial statements and make recommendations for changes as appropriate.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting or Finance, or six years of an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Six or more years of experience in Accounting and Financial functions with at least three years of proven experience in financial reporting analysis, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Ability to travel 10%.
